Two new gardening series announced for 2015 as Sky TV enters the sector


Sky TV is entering into gardening TV in January, while the BBC is bringing back Great British Garden Revival.

 

Great British Garden Revival's new 10-part series two airs on BBC Two from early January 2015.

 

In each episode, two presenters will focus on an endangered aspect of gardens about which they feel passionately about and offer hands-on, practical advice to viewers on how they can restore and look after their gardens.

 

The series will feature episodes on knot gardens (Alys Fowler), ornamental grasses (Toby Buckland), conifers (Carol Klein), pelargoniums (Tom Hart Dyke), lilies (James Wong), woodland gardens (James Wong), peonies (Charlie Dimmock), daffodils (Carol Klein), bog gardens (Joe Swift), lavender (Diarmuid Gavin), wildlife gardens (Diarmuid Gavin), climbers & creepers (Joe Swift), soft fruit (Alys Fowler), roses (Rachel de Thame), blossom trees and shrubs (Chris Beardshaw), scented gardens (Toby Buckland), tulips (Tom Hart Dyke), rhododendrons (James Wong), carnations (Christine Walkden) and irises (Rachel de Thame).

 

Kelways, David Austin, Downderry, a Cornwall daffodil grower and a Norfolk tulip grower are among nurseries featured.

 

Show Me Your Garden meanwhile is a new six-part series airing on Sky 1 HD weekly 2 January 2015. Garden owners compete for a golden trowel by showing off their plots. Commissioner was Siobhan Mulholland.

 

Great British Garden Revival's "Topiary & Roof Gardens" from series 1 was recently awarded "TV Broadcast of the Year" at the 2014 Garden Media Guild Awards.
