Sky Sports signs five-year NFL TV deal

Monday Night Football is coming to Sky Sports under a new deal with the NFL.

Sky Sports is to show even more American football from the NFL – including the iconic Monday Night Football – after sealing a new five-year agreement with the sport's bosses.

Under the deal, the satellite broadcaster will televise more than 80 live fixtures per season from 2015 onwards, including up to five games a week during the regular season, plus the playoffs and the Super Bowl.

Furthermore, the coverage will incorporate the entire NFL International Series, which sees teams jet across the pond to play regular season games in the UK – including sold-out matches at Wembley.

Another feature – NFL RedZone – will give fans the opportunity to keep track of all the scores and action every Sunday via the red button.

Regular NFL shows will also be broadcast throughout the season, allowing Sky Sports subscribers to stay up to date between fixtures.

Sky Sports Managing Director Barney Francis said: "We're delighted to be awarded the rights to Monday Night Football as part of this fantastic new deal.

"Our partnership with the NFL spans two decades and we look forward to helping the sport continue its huge growth in popularity in the UK and Ireland for years to come."
