Sky Q enhancement project under way throughout Northern Ireland

After months of anticipation, Sky Q – launched earlier this year in Northern Ireland – is being rolled out to homes across the country. In order for all residents to be able to enjoy the benefits of Sky Q, a large-scale project is now under way throughout Northern Ireland to enhance communal blocks so that they are Sky Q ready.

Described as the next generation in home entertainment, Sky Q lets you watch different programmes simultaneously on up to five screens around the home while recording up to four other channels – a first in the UK and Ireland. Existing Sky customers have the option to upgrade to Sky Q and new customers will receive a Sky Q box when they join Sky.

Many of Sky’s Northern Ireland customers are now enjoying Sky Q, which is also being rolled out to communal properties as part of the enhancement project. Sky, along with their only approved installer for Northern Ireland, Campbell & Kennedy, is working with local managing agents and housing associations to enhance existing equipment in communal blocks. Sky Q enhancement is free in most cases where communal TV is installed – an attractive offer to managing agents.

On 30th of November, Sky representatives will be travelling to the Ramada Plaza in Belfast to hold a Sky Q conference for all managing agents and housing associations that are interested in finding out more about the enhancement. Sanjay Sudra, Regional Sales Manager at Sky, commented “Sky Q is a real game-changer for home entertainment and so it is no surprise that we’ve seen a huge amount of interest from managing agents in Northern Ireland, keen to make the enhancement to their block.

Given the levels of interest, it made sense to hold this conference so that we can explain the very simple and easy enhancement process and answer any questions managing agents may have about Sky Q.”

This project is already transforming the television viewing experiences for residents in communal properties and is set to continue into the new year.

Sky Q supports 4K and comes with 12 tuners and a 2TB hard drive – enough space to store 350 hours of HD content.
