Campbell & Kennedy's Technical Bid Writer, Richard Pidgeon, tells us his favourite ever TV show on Sky and why Game of Thrones just pips The Walking Dead to the post.

What is the latest TV show you started watching on Sky?

I had high hopes for Vinyl but then who wouldn’t have given it is the brainchild of legends Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger? It hasn’t let me down so far, the music is terrific and the Seventies record industry setting is inspired, not to mention the threads they wear! Gonna get me some flares and flowery shirts with SERIOUSLY big collars…

What is your favourite ever TV show that you have watched on Sky?

It has to be Game of Thrones, I read the books and loved them but feared that they wouldn’t translate that well to the TV screen. I needn’t have worried, the show is spectacular and has great acting and fantastic visuals. Gotta love those sneaky Lannisters…

Do you have a favourite Sky channel and why?

Sky Sports for me and never more so than this weekend. I will be glued to the Masters action at Augusta from the first tee shot. It is such a beautiful setting with all the colours and the pink and purple azaleas lining the course. I remember the first time I watched in on Sky Sports HD and I just thought ‘Wow!’. Fingers crossed for a UK win…go Rory!

Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead?

I like The Walking Dead but I LOVE GoT. Can’t wait for the season six premiere so I can find out if Jon Snow really is dead or not, not that being dead would necessarily be the end when you’re at the Wall! There are so many great characters in GoT and I love all their scheming and intrigues.

What do you like best about having Sky TV?

I reckon it is the variety that Sky offers. Whether you’re mad for movies, spellbound by sports or an avid Atlantic viewer, there is always something great to watch for all the family. Sky is always first with the big exclusives as well and goes the extra mile to make the viewing experience special. I love the HD channels and, having recently bought a 4k television, am SO excited at Sky Q.
