The wait is almost over for Star Wars fans. The Sky Movies Star Wars channel will be available to view from the 11th December.

 

The full Star Wars movie collection will be available to watch on the new channel as well as on demand and via Sky Go.

 

There will also be exclusive programming on the new Sky Movies Star Wars channel including a live programme from the premiere of the new film, Star Wars: The Force Awaken, which will be released in cinemas on 17 December.

Sky have unveiled Sky Q, a new next generation home entertainment system. The new hardware will offer satellite householders an ‘Apple and Netflix style’ experience.

 

The new set-top box will allow subscribers to watch and record up to four programmes simultaneously on multiple devices throughout the home.

 

SkyQ will also wirelessly beam content on smartphones and tablets around the home. The software will learn viewers’ preferences and make suggestions of programmes they might like.

Following the Rugby World Cup, Sky Sports has announced it has secured the rights to show the very best rugby from New Zealand, Australia, Argentina and South Africa.

 

The new five-year deal with SANZAR - the Southern Hemisphere rugby body - will provide viewers with at least 150 fixtures a year from the Southern Hemisphere’s top International and domestic competitions.

 

Headlining Sky’s coverage is the annual Rugby Championship featuring the four semi-finalists from this year’s Rugby World Cup, The All Blacks, Springboks, Wallabies and the Pumas.
