Elderpark Housing Association residents can now upgrade to Sky Q

Campbell & Kennedy enhanced the Integrated Reception Systems (IRS) of 110 blocks of flats in Glasgow on behalf of Elderpark Housing Association, providing thousands of residents with the option to upgrade to Sky Q. To coincide with Sky’s six-week Key Performance Indicators, our engineers completed on average three enhancements a day of the communal systems.

The Sky Q silver box comes Ultra HD-ready and has four times more storage than previous Sky devices, bringing viewers the most advanced TV experience ever.

To receive Sky Q, every communal satellite system across the UK requires an enhancement. Our engineers installed a digital signal cable router (DSCR) switch in each block, enhancing the existing infrastructure to make way for a more exciting TV viewing experience.

C&K surveyed all 110 blocks and assigned each a status rating (good to go, access issues, light remedial work required and not suitable for enhancement). The jobs were then sent out to our engineers to begin the works, ensuring minimal disruption to residents.

All before and after photographs of the works undertaken and signal records were reviewed by Sky Q’s quality assurance team. Tenants were notified by our Customer Service team that they could now receive Sky Q, once all work was completed and approved by Sky – much to the residents’ delight.

A post enhancement visit took place to make sure the install was fully operational, which is Campbell & Kennedy’s standard procedure in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Elderpark Housing Association completed a customer satisfaction survey and a follow up meeting took place to ensure that they were fully satisfied with the completed works. As a result of the project, all tenants in the enhanced blocks now have access to Sky Q if they opt to upgrade.
